YORKTOWN, Ind. â€" Police arrested a Yorktown pastor who admitted he’d had sex with a teenage girl he was counseling.
According to court documents, Terry Dobbs, 53, gave police a full confession after being confronted about his activities with the teen. Dobbs is pastor of Old Fashion United Baptist Church in Yorktown.
Police first learned about Dobbs and the teenager on Dec. 2, when they were contacted about a possible sexual relationship between the two.
The 15-year-old girl told police she’d been having sex with Dobbs for the last two months. During an interview, the teen said it started when Dobbs began counseling her for some problems she was having over the summer.
During those conversations, Dobbs talked about kissing her, the teen told police. After they kissed, they fondled one another and then progressed into sex acts and sexual intercourse at the church.
The teen told police she had text messages from Dobbs on her computer and that the two of them had taken nude photos and exchanged them via computer and phone.
On Thursday, Dec. 8, Yorktown police brought Dobbs in for questioning. He “gave a full confession†about what had taken place, according to court documents, and was arrested.
Charges against Dobbs include sexual misconduct with a minor, vicarious sexual gratification with a minor, child exploitation and child solicitation.
